Where should the bed go?
Describe the room and we rank every place the bed can go, each position listing the rules it passes and the rules it breaks. Free, no account, and nothing about you leaves the browser.
Eight Mansions (八宅), one school, named on every page. 62 articles explaining the reasoning.

Your Kua number sorts the eight directions into four that suit you and four that do not. Every other tool needs it.
Your rooms
Where a piece of furniture goes, and which way it should face. Drag the door and window on the plan rather than typing coordinates.
Your whole home
Which part of the building suits which room. This comes from the building, not from your birth year, and the two schools below answer it differently.
This year
The dates the year actually runs between, and the directions it says to leave undisturbed.
If you are new to this
Six articles that explain the parts everything else assumes.
What is a Kua number, and how is it worked out?
A Kua number is one of eight taken from your birth year and sex, and it sorts the eight compass directions into four that suit you and four that do not.
Which direction should the head of your bed face?
The direction depends on your birth year, not one rule for everyone — and in a square room half of all people reach only one of their four good directions.
Two things are called a bagua map
One bagua map is set by a compass bearing, the other by your front door, and they put the same areas in different corners. How to tell which.
Which way should your desk face in feng shui?
Your desk direction is where you look while sitting, not where the furniture points. The wall-by-wall answer, plus four checks for the error.
The start of spring is not always 4 February
The Kua year boundary falls on 3 February in 39 years of 1900-2100, 4 February in 128 and 5 February in 34. Near the edge that changes your Kua number.
Where the feng shui command position actually is in a bedroom
The command position is three conditions, not a feeling: see the door, stay out of its path, solid wall behind your head. In a small room they fight.
What costs money, and what does not
Every tool above is free and needs no account. Three items cost money. The downloads are single payments you keep, so those are final once delivered; the reading subscription renews until you cancel it: the full home report at US$29, which does the arithmetic for your rooms, the handbook at US$19.99, which teaches you to walk the house yourself, the element reading subscription at US$1.99, which reads any name for its element and its trigram.
It assembles all eight sectors with this year's positions applied to each, the bedroom against your own chart, and one printable document. Full pricing.
What Eight Mansions actually says
Eight Mansions divides the compass into eight directions and sorts them into four that suit you and four that do not. Which four you get depends on one thing: the year you were born, adjusted so the year starts at the beginning of spring rather than on 1 January.
That gives you a number from 1 to 9 — your Kua number — and the number points to a set of directions. Two people born a week apart can land in opposite sets, which is why a bed position that suits one person may not suit the other.
What these tools will not do
They will not tell you what is going to happen to you, and they will not read a photograph. Eight Mansions is a set of rules about direction and placement. It has nothing to say about your face, and we have not bolted on anything that pretends otherwise.
We also keep the layers apart. The layout, the year's stars and your Kua number answer three different questions, and each is labeled for what it is. Averaging them would produce output that no school would recognize, so we do not. What we assume, and how we check it.
