Front door facing a bedroom door: the mild one

Of everything a front door can be pointed at, a bedroom door is the least serious. It gets treated as though it were the same order of problem as a bathroom or a stove in the line of sight, and it is not. Worth fixing, worth five minutes, not worth worrying about.
What the tradition objects to
A bedroom is private. A front door is the most public thing in the house. Line the two up and the reading is that the private room is exposed to everything arriving — read as thin privacy and sleep that is easily disturbed.
That is the whole of it. There is no money reading attached, no illness reading, none of the severity the bathroom version carries. In the classical material this sits in the group of minor door clashes, and the treatment matches: keep the door shut.
When it matters and when it barely does
Two things decide it. Who sleeps there, and how squarely the doors line up.
If it is the main bedroom and the doors sit close and directly opposite, that is the version worth acting on — someone is behind that door every night. If it is a spare room, a study, or a room nobody sleeps in, most of the reading does not land at all, because the reading is about sleep and privacy. Shut the door out of habit and stop thinking about it.
And if the bedroom door is off to one side, or down a hallway with a turn in it, the doors are not really facing each other and the classical objection was never about you.
The fix
Keep the bedroom door shut. That is not a simplification of the fix, it is the fix — the objection is about exposure, and a shut door removes it.
If the household will not do that reliably, hang a bead or fabric curtain in the doorway. It works while the door is open, it is the traditional answer, and it costs almost nothing.
Anything beyond those two is somebody selling you something.
When you cannot change it
Small apartments put the bedroom door where the plan puts it, and a studio does not have the option at all — which is its own problem with its own answers.
Where the layout is fixed, the tradition’s move is to shift attention inward: what matters then is not the doorway but where the bed sits inside the room. A bed directly in line with a door it cannot be moved away from is the real issue, and screening the bed does more than screening the doorway. A low cabinet, a folding screen, or the bed simply moved along the wall so it is out of the line all answer it.
The thing that outranks it
Inside that bedroom, the bed’s position is worth more attention than what the door faces. Diagonal from the door, head against a solid wall, nothing structural overhead, no mirror facing it. That is the command position, and it is the one rule every school in this tradition keeps.

Ranked by how much the tradition weights them, the things a front door can face run roughly:
- A bathroom — the most cited, and cheap to fix.
- The kitchen — the stove is the second most weighted feature in the house after the door itself.
- A window or back door straight through — a different fault entirely, about the house rather than one room.
- A staircase running down at it.
- A bedroom door, which is this one.
